 Cochin International Airport is an international airport situated in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. Located at Nedumbassery, about 30 km (19 mi) northeast of Kochi. Surprisingly 90% of the travellers come from south of the airport. It is the busiest and largest airport in the state of Kerala. For the financial year 2014-15, Cochin airport is the fourth busiest airport in India in terms of international passenger traffic after Delhi,Mumbai and Chennai ferrying over 3,751,225 passengers and seventh busiest airport in India carrying 6,814,867 passengers. The airport is a primary base for Air India Express operations and is a focus city for Air Asia India, Air India, Indigo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet.

Qualification : (i) SSLC pass

  • Valid LMV (required to obtain Heavy Driving Licence within two years)
  • Physical Standards
    • Height :160 cm (minimum)
    • Weight :52 kg (minimum)
    • Chest :without expansion- minimum 81 cm (with expansion of 5 cm )
    • Should not have any physical deformity, flat foot, bow legs,
    • knocking knees, fractured limbs etc.
    • Eye sight (without glasses/contact lens)
      • Distant Vision : 6/6 (both eyes)
      • Near Vision : N-5 (both eyes)
      • Should not have colour blindness/ night blindness/squint eyes etc.
      • Should have full field of vision
    • Hearing – Normal
    • Speech – Normal
    • Should not be suffering from organic/chronic diseases of any sort, vertigo, diseases of heart, lungs or kidney, abnormal blood pressure etc.
    • Should be capable of undergoing physical strain for prolonged periods.
    • Should be medically fit.



Age : Shall not exceed 30 years as on 5th December 2015




Candidates should belong to Evictee category, whose House/Land had been acquired during land acquisition for the construction of Cochin International Airport. They should be having LAC(Land Acquisition Case Certificate) either in their own name or should have direct relationship such as father/mother/grandparents/siblings etc.

Candidates need not send any hard copy or application printout now. Shortlisted candidates shall have to undergo and pass the Physical Tests (both Physical Measurement & Physical endurance Tests) for qualifying to further tests. Depending on the number of candidates qualified, there will be Written Test, Interview etc. as part of selection process. Though the minimum educational qualification requirement is specified as pass in SSLC, Company may fix a higher Cut off mark as criteria for shortlisting if the number of Candidates meeting the minimum requirement exceeds the desirable limit. Also, if any member of the LAC holder’s family is found to have already obtained substantial benefits such as Job, Prepaid Taxi Permit etc., they will not be shortlisted.



Candidates shortlisted for Interview are required to submit duly signed printout of the application alongwith attested copies of relevant testimonials and certificates at the time of Interview. During certificate verification, if any of the data submitted through online by the candidate is found to be false or incorrect, they shall be disqualified and will not be permitted to attend Interview.



CIAL reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications without assigning any reason thereof, at its discretion.



Selected Candidates will be offered a consolidated pay of Rs.10,000/- per month during the training period. Training period is normally for one year. On successful completion of Training, they will be absorbed as Junior Attendant Grade V on probation in the Scale of Pay Rs.4750-3%-7000 and the remuneration package will include Basic Pay, Industrial DA, HRA, Allowances, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Medical reimbursement etc. Cost to the Company (CTC) as per present Pay package would be approximately Rs.26,000/- per month. Training/Probation period is liable to be extended at the discretion of the management.



During the period of service, the employees are required to undergo and qualify the mandatory training programmes and other prescribed courses as decided by the management from time to time, failing which their career progression will be adversely affected. They are also required to acquire all the certifications and clearances as per various statutes and as stipulated by the Company.



Airport is a continuously operating entity functioning round the clock in three shifts with shift timings, 6 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 10 pm & 10 pm to 6 am. Selected candidates shall be required to work on any shift as assigned by the Company. They may be posted on any duty/assignment as deemed fit by the Company and shall carry out the duties as assigned. Airport being an essential service, employees are likely to be called for duty at any time depending upon the exigencies of work.



Selected candidates may be posted in Cargo, Duty Free or any other Department of the Company as per requirement. They shall be required to perform manual and strenuous duties of Loading & Unloading work, operation of equipments/vehicles/machines etc. and therefore should maintain throughout their career, the physical and medical standards requirements to perform strenuous duties for long durations. They are liable to be transferred/deputed to any other department/ branch/ unit/ subsidiary /joint venture of the Company as the case may be or posted to any unit/ branch/project location/ subsidiary/joint venture currently in existence or to be formed in future that may be located anywhere in India or abroad.

EXAMINATION FEES AND MODE OF PAYMENT: Rs. 100/- (One Hundred only)

  • Women candidates and candidates belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, and Physically Handicapped & Ex-serviceman category are exempted from paying Application fee.
  • Ex-servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Government on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to exservicemen for their re-employment are NOT eligible for fee concession.
  •  The candidates submitting their application online should pay the requisite fees only through challan to be deposited in State Bank of India. Challan will be generated online (please see instructions for filling online application). Other mode of payment will not be considered and the application of such candidates will be rejected outrightly and payment made shall stand forfeited.
  • Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. 

MODE OF SELECTION:

The selection shall be made through One Tier, Two Tier and Three Tier examination scheme and Physical Endurance Test, Skill Test.

HOW TO APPLY : 

  • a) Candidates are required to apply online using the website http://dsssbonline.nic.in 
  • b) Candidates will be required to complete the Online Application Form, the instructions of which are available at the above mentioned site. The time cap to fill complete online application will be 30 minutes. 
  • c) Before start filling up of online application, the candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in the jpg format in such manner that each file should not exceed 40 KB. However, it must not be less than 25 KB in size for the photograph and 10 KB for the signature (also see guidelines for uploading photograph and signature image). 
  • d) The online application form can be filled upto the last date of Advertisement for the post after which the link will be disabled. 
  • e) Applicants should avoid submitting multiple applications for one post. However, if due to any unavoidable circumstances any applicant submits multiple applications, then he/she must ensure that the application with higher RID (Registration ID) is complete in all respect. In case of multiple applications, the application with higher RID shall be entertained by the DSSSB. The earlier application shall stand rejected and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID. 
  • f) The applicants must ensure that while filling their application forms, they are providing their valid and active E-mail IDs as the DSSSB may use electronic mode of communication while contacting with them at different stages of examination process.

  • h) After submitting the Online Application, the candidates are required to preserve the print out of the finally submitted Online Application for each post applied for. 
  • i) The candidates are advised to submit the Online Application well in advance, without waiting for the closing date. II.  Minimum Educational qualification:-


  • For the post having GP Rs.2400/2800/- A University Degree or its equivalent. 
  • For the post having GP Rs.1900/- & Rs.2000/- Pass in Matric or its equivalent. 
  • For the post having GP Rs.1800/- 10th pass or ITI Or its equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) .
Age Limit :

Minimum 18 years – maximum 25 years as on 01.01.2015. No relaxation in lower or upper age limit is permissible for any category of candidates.

Proof of age: 

The date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation passed Certificate OR in a Certificate recognized as equivalent to Matriculation.  

Period of reckoning Sports Achievements :- 
The Sports achievements should be in the current financial year (i.e. 2014-15) and /or immediate previous two financial years (i.e. on or after 01.04.2012) shall only be considered for appointment. The period shall be counted from the date of notification. For validity of sports achievement, concluding day of the championship shall be taken into consideration. Activeness in Sports shall be adjudged as per the candidate’s performance during the Field Trial.

Procedure for recruitment : - 

For Headquarters vacancies, selection will be conducted by South Eastern Railway, Hd.Qrs./Garden Reach and for Divisional /Workshop vacancies, selection will be done by the respective Divisions/workshop themselves.


Examination Fees :- 
  • A non-refundable Bank Draft / Indian Postal Order for Rs.100/- will be the examination fee for unreserved and OBC candidates. Bank Draft/IPO should be issued in favour of the addressee as indicated in the table- under Para-10.
  •  SC / ST, Women, Minorities & Economically backward class candidates are exempted from payment of application fees. Minorities will mean Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zorastrian (Parsis). For claiming waiver of examination fee, minorities candidates should furnish ‘Self declaration’ as mentioned in Annexure-III along with the application form.
  • Economically Backward Classes will mean the candidates whose family income is less than Rs.50,000/- per annum and income certificate for this purpose should be issued from the Specified Authority and on Specified Format as per Annexure-II.
How to Apply :-

  • Application as per format given should be submitted on A4 size paper duly filled in by the candidates own handwriting, duly accompanying with self attested copies of all certificates and
  • Two passport size photograph (one to be pasted in the space of the application form and other to be clipped with the application form) 
  • All the Photocopies of Sports achievement Certificates, Age proof certificate, Education qualification and caste certificate should be self attested by the Candidate and should be enclosed along with application form. The Certificate for actual participation in Field for their recognized sports achievements should be submitted before Trial, based on which he/she will be considered for Trial. 8
  • Any discrepancy found in the application and documents submitted by the applicants will render the application invalid. Candidates should write the “name of the event, category applied for and post applied for” in block letters at the top of envelope which should be super scribed: “Application for recruitment against Sports Quota- 2014-15 IN S.E.RAILWAY” 
  • In case of serving employee “No objection Certificate” from the employer should be attached. 
  • Candidates are advised to Log on South Eastern Railway’s official website www.ser.indianrailways.gov.in for downloading the application form.
