Description

The Cognos Developer will be responsible for designing and developing Cognos 10 business intelligence solutions that include activities related to analysis, data modeling and report development.  The qualified candidate will assume a role as a PF (Officer - Functional Cognos) to collaborate on advanced SQL queries to support business needs.
  1. To develop new and support existing Cognos BI reporting solutions including reports and Cognos Framework Manager models.
  2. To Create both standard and ad hoc reports in Cognos 10 Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Business Insight and other Cognos reporting tools. Design and enhance Cognos 10 Framework Manager models
  3. To develop Cognos processes to extract data based on business requirement on need based.
  4. To design and develop complex SQL queries to troubleshoot, identify and resolve reporting, data and application issues.
  5. Write and maintain technical specifications/ documentation that describe program development, data modeling, coding, testing, changes and corrections
  6. Train and support end users to enhance the utilization of Cognos Reporting Solutions.
  7. To have professional experience in Cognos Business Intelligence Suite and Cognos BI Framework Manager in a data warehouse or data mart environment, include extensive Cognos BI report development experience in Cement business

 

Qualifications

 B.E / B.Tech/ MCA - Information Technology Mandatory Skills Develop, manage and testing backup and recovery plans. Design and develop programming systems.Develop new programs. Provide assistance to testers and support personnel.

Your position


As a Software Engineer you will join a growing agile development team within the Map Community department, stepping up to help shape the future of Community Mapping at HERE. You and your team mates will be embedded in the broader Map Community team based in Germany, allowing you to collaborate with an international team of highly skilled engineers.

Your responsibility will cover developing, extending and maintaining the tool chain that processes Community sourced map data. HERE’s crowd-mapping platform “Map Creator”, available at http://mapcreator.here.com, collects millions of Community map updates which contribute to HERE’s global navigational database.

The processing tool chain is embedded in an elaborated and evolved crowd-mapping software stack & platform, using state of the art technology assets. Web- and mobile-based frontends, related backend services and geospatial databases (SQL and non-SQL) form the environment that you will be working in.



Qualifications

 

·         B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Geoinformatics
·         1+ years of Oracle Database development experience
·         Experience in Oracle APEX UI development
·         Good understanding of database design and development
·         Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS
·         Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken

Other Qualifications 

·         Background on geospatial data handling & management
