About Dell :



You will be responsible for all aspects of the Dell SonicWALL Security products. We are looking for a Test Associate Engineer to perform testing and test automation of the Dell SonicWALL products. You will be developing the test cases for new features, new features testing, regression, performance and longevity testing. Create test beds, troubleshoot the issues, discover bugs, debug and analyze the causes, track using bug tracking tool and verify the fixes. Do test automation, redesign the test automation framework as needed, run the automated scripts for regression.

This position reports to the Test Engineering Director at Bangalore location.

Qualification : 

Fresh Graduates BE/BTech Computers or MTech Computers or MCA
OR
Equivalent qualification with experience in QA/Testing up to 2-3 years

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • - Develop test plans and test cases based on the marketing and design requirements for new features or update existing features as appropriate.
  • - Validate the design and test new features, functionalities thoroughly providing thorough coverage to features testing. Do regression, performance and stability testing.
  • - Discover the bugs, file them using bug tracking tool, verify bugs after the fix and track the bug status. Analyze the issues discovered, narrow down the causes, provide the required information to developers, and troubleshoot the setup and environmental issues.
  • - Create and maintain test beds, reproduce the customer reported bugs, verify the fix and convert it to test case.
  • - Automate test cases using PERL or Selenium or any other tool selected.
  • - Participate in Test Automation framework design and evaluation of new tools.

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The job involves validation and certification of VMware products on Dell Enterprise Server Platforms using applicable technologies and Software Engineering methodologies. The job also includes characterization and providing support in Root Cause Analysis of defects on multiple VMware ESX/ESXi versions. A strong background in computer architecture will be a plus. The engineer is responsible to deal with various subsystems of the Operating System with focus on Dell hardware.






PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • - Setup the test bed as per the hardware configuration matrix for the release consisting of platforms, peripherals, add-on cards etc and then install required software like firmware, BIOS, OS etc. Perform validation and/or certification as per the Test Strategy / Plan.
  • - Troubleshoot system/component issues (Hardware/Software). Characterize and provide support in Root Cause Analysis of the defects on multiple VMware ESX/ESXi versions.
  • - Provide adequate technical details to the internal and external teams to substantiate the findings and provide support in issue resolution.
  • - Build rapport with the vendors and the teams at Dell. Work in coordination with the teams to achieve engineering objectives.
  • - Study new technologies offered by Dell and share the knowledge with team members through presentations.
  • - Assist other Dell teams, as and when needed to resolve OS issues.
  • - Keep track of developments in the Virtualization technologies, use the knowledge to train and improve the internal processes


PROFILE OF CANDIDATES:

  • - Should be very good in Computer Architecture, with good exposure to Hardware, BIOS, and Firmware layers.
  • - Should have good understanding of Hypervisors (ESX/ESXi architecture), networking and storage subsystems.
  • - Should have hands-on exposure to VMware ESX/ESXi server and vCenter Server, good understanding of other virtualization technologies will be a plus
  • - Must have good analytical skills to trouble shoot technical issues.
  • - Should have solid written and verbal communication skills. Experience involving day-to-day interaction with distributed teams would be an added advantage.
  • - Knowledge of System Management tools will be a plus.
  • - Should have 1-3 years of experience in the software/hardware industry.
  • - Should be an engineering graduate in Electronics & Communication/Computer Science.
